WHAT ARE THE EIGHT PRAYER WATCHES?

"The First Watch: 6 PM – 9 PM (The Sunset Watch)

Matthew 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will

build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

- Pray that word curses/spells do not work. The enemy has people working

day and night to overcome the saints in the spiritual world.

The Second Watch: 9 PM – 12 AM (The Watch to Bind Up Evil

Development)

Psalm 119:62 “At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your

righteous judgments.”

- We should remain thankful in praise even

during this time of prayer. We serve a God who executes judgments fairly

and unbiased, unlike man.

The Third Watch: 12 AM – 3 AM (The Watch to Pray with No Fear)

Psalm 91:5-6 “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the

arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of

the destruction that lays waste at noonday.”

- The word of God says in Acts 28: “But when Paul had gathered a bundle

of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat

and fastened on his hand. So, when the natives saw the creature hanging

from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer,

whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” 

But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.

“However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall dead. But after they had

looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds

and said that he was a God.”

The Fourth Watch: 3 AM – 6 AM (The Seekers Watch)

Matthew 24:43-47 “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what

hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to

be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an

hour you do not expect. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master

made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that

servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to

you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.”

- These are the hours to give the Lord praise.

The Fifth Watch: 6 AM – 9 AM (The Watch to Pray For Solomon’s

Wisdom)

2 Chronicles 7:12-14 “Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said

to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a

house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, 

or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and

seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and

will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

• This is the perfect time to ask God to heal the land. During this time, of

the global pandemic, we need God to watch over all sick and shut in. Our

prayers need to bombard heaven so that nothing of this magnitude, such as

COVID-19/AIDS & HIV, never happens again!

The Sixth Watch: 9 AM – 12 PM (The Watch To Give God Thanks and

Praise)

Colossians 1:13-18 “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and

conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have

redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the

invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created

that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or

dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and

for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is

the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the

dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”

- This is a time to be thankful for a second chance of life, for forgiving us

of our sins, for deliverance, for not losing our minds, and lastly, for

having a hedge of protection around us daily.

The Seventh Watch: 12 PM – 3 PM (The Watch to God’s Protection

(Elohim)

Psalm 91:1-6 Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God. “He who dwells in the

secret place of the Most-High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I

will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will

trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the

perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you

shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be

afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the

pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at

noonday.”

- Dark arts like sorcery, and black/white magic, cannot stop us.

The Eighth Watch: 3 PM – 6 PM (The Watch Of High Worship)

John 19:30, “So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is

finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

- When we pray, we thank God here for His Son Jesus Christ dying

on the Cross. Even though our Savior was transitioning, the enemy

still tried Him. This proves to the believer that if we keep our minds
